Engineered for Sensitive Metallized Film Lamination

BOPP and MetPET films need to be handled gently during lamination. BOPP can stretch when tension or temperature is not controlled and the metallized surface of MetPET can be damaged by too much pressure, incorrect adhesive chemistry or poor handling of the material.

The machine maintains constant web tension from unwinding to rewinding. The coating system deposits a controlled adhesive layer, not adding any additional thickness to the laminate. Adjustable drying conditions help to remove the adhesive carrier while protecting the film surface and metallized look.

The automatic web-guiding system is constantly detecting the position of the material and compensating the lateral movement. This makes sure printed BOPP and MetPET layers are properly aligned throughout continuous production.

Designed for Decorative and Barrier Packaging Laminates

MetPET gives a metallic look and enhanced barrier qualities, whereas BOPP offers clarity, printability, flexibility and mechanical strength. This combination of materials produces a visually appealing packaging providing protection to the packed goods from light, moisture and external contamination.

The BOPP MetPET Lamination Machine takes care of the entire process from primary unwinding of the web and the application of the adhesive. The coated substrate passes through the drying chamber and then encounters the secondary film at the lamination nip.

Both layers are bonded without wrinkles, trapped air or inconsistent adhesive patterns using a uniform nip pressure. The final laminate is then rewound under controlled torque to produce straight rolls for curing, slitting, printing, bag forming or other converting activities.

Why BOPP/MetPET Lamination Needs Accurate Process Control

The fact that it has a shiny metallic surface does not make it a commercially acceptable laminate. The two layers must be kept in alignment , flat and tightly bonded during printing , slitting , pouch construction and final product use . BOPP can stretch due to poor tension control. Too much heat can cause shrinkage or dimensional variance.

Incorrect coating weight might lead to apparent adhesive patterns, haziness or weak bonding. Inadequate drying might potentially trap residual moisture or solvent between the layers. These problems can cause curling, tunnelling, delamination and rejection during further conversion.

Automatic BOPP/MetPET Film Lamination Machine Synchronizes Coating, Drying, Tension and Nip Pressure along the Line This controlled method helps producers to achieve a clean metallic look, solid laminate structure and uniformly wrapped finished rolls.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is automatic web guiding included?

Electronic web guiding can be integrated at the unwind and rewind sections to maintain accurate edge alignment.

Can the machine handle other film combinations?

Yes. Depending on its configuration, the machine can process combinations involving PET, BOPP, MetPET, PE, CPP and other compatible flexible-packaging films.

Will lamination damage the metallized surface?

Correct roller finish, controlled tension, suitable pressure and carefully selected process settings help protect the delicate metallized layer.

How does the machine prevent film wrinkles?

Will lamination damage the metallized surface?

Which adhesive can be used?

The machine may be designed for solvent-based or suitable water-based adhesive systems. Adhesive compatibility must be confirmed according to the films and end-use application.

Does the machine support plain and printed films?

Which adhesive can be used?

Yes. It can process compatible plain, reverse-printed and treated packaging films. The configuration is finalized according to the required laminate structure.

Can printed BOPP be laminated with MetPET?

Yes. Printed BOPP can be combined with MetPET using a compatible adhesive and properly controlled coating, drying and tension settings.

What is the difference between BOPP and MetPET film?

BOPP is a flexible polypropylene film valued for printability, clarity and strength. MetPET is a polyester film with a thin metallized layer that provides a reflective finish and improved barrier performance.

What is an Automatic BOPP/MetPET Film Lamination Machine?

It is an industrial roll-to-roll machine that bonds BOPP film with metallized PET film through controlled adhesive coating, drying, web alignment and lamination pressure.
