Engineered for Narrow-Width Roll Conversion

Narrow roll production presents different problems than traditional wide width slitting. Even a tiny web movement, a modification in blade position or a change in tension can impact the finished width and lead to uneven roll creation.

Our Micro Slitting Machine is developed for keeping the stability of the material in unwinding, cutting and rewinding. Any lateral movement is corrected by an electronic web-guiding device before the substrate enters the slitting area. The master roll is divided into narrow rolls in the desired manufacturing arrangement by means of precisely aligned blades.

The machine can be set up for flexible films, laminated substrates, aluminium foil, coated paper and other suitable roll materials. This is ideal for converters with several products that have tight width requirements.

Designed for Precision at Higher Production Speeds

High working speed increases the effect of vibration, affecting roll diameter and web-tension variation. Without coordinated control these factors can contribute to width inconsistency, loose rolls, wrinkles and damaged edges.

The High-Speed Micro Slitter Rewinder combines a sturdy machine construction and controlled driving arrangement to maintain stable material movement. With the decreasing diameter of the master roll and increasing diameter of the finished roll, the web pull is controlled automatically by the tension.

The differential rewinding can be fitted to ensure that each thin roll receives the correct winding torque. This is particularly useful when small substrate-thickness variations would otherwise cause some rolls to wind more tightly than others.

Why Micro Slitting Requires Greater Accuracy

The wider the material cut into very narrow rolls, the more apparent the slightest mistake becomes. A small change in blade spacing can make a finished roll unsuitable for its intended equipment. Web wander can also result in tapered rolls or inconsistent widths from one end of a production run to another.

Narrow rolls are often harder to rewind, because the differences in thickness of the material can pile up fast. If all rolls receive exactly the same torque without compensation, some may become overly tight while others remain loose.

The Precision Micro Slitter coordinates web guidance, knife placement and differential rewinding to manage these issues. This helps eliminate rejected rolls and generates final material that runs more reliably during subsequent converting operations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is automatic web guiding available?

Yes. An electronic web-guide system can automatically correct lateral web movement before the material reaches the slitting section.

Can the machine produce different roll widths together?

Is automatic web guiding available?

Can printed materials be processed?

Yes. Printed films and papers can be processed with controlled tension and web guiding. Surface sensitivity and print alignment should be considered during configuration.

Why is differential rewinding important?

It compensates for minor thickness and tension differences between narrow rolls, helping each finished roll form with more consistent hardness.

Which cutting method is used for micro slitting?

Razor, shear or score slitting may be selected depending on the substrate and required edge quality. Not every cutting method is suitable for every material.

How does the machine maintain accuracy at high speed?

A rigid frame, precise roller alignment, automatic tension control and electronic web guiding maintain stable material movement during production.

Which materials can be micro-slit?

Depending on the machine configuration, it can process BOPP, PET, CPP, PE, laminated film, aluminium foil, coated paper, release liner and other compatible materials.

What is a High-Speed Micro Slitting Machine?

A High Speed Micro Slitting Machine cuts a wide master roll into multiple narrow rolls while maintaining accurate widths, controlled tension and uniform rewinding.
