3 to 7 Drive Rotogravure Printing Machine
Advanced Multi-Drive Control for Precise, High-Speed Printing
Mohindra Mechanical Works manufactures 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 Drive Rotogravure Printing Machines for controlled roll-to-roll printing on films, foil, paper and flexible packaging materials. Each drive arrangement is designed according to the machine width, printing stations, substrate behaviour, roll size and automation requirements.
Distributing critical functions over numerous drives enables improved control over material feeding, printing, web movement and finished-roll creation. Widths available from 22-82” and 1-9 colour configurations. Registration, web guiding, tension control, drying and roll handling can all be tailored to the customer’s material, application and production process.

Engineered for Controlled Web Movement
Consistent printing depends on how well the material is transported from the unwind section through each printing station and into the rewinder. If tension or lateral movement is not controlled, it might result in registration variance, creases and uneven roll development. The machine can consequently be supplied with an automatic tension system on both sides, coupled with an electronic or hydraulic web guide.
These systems control material movement as the diameter of the unwind and rewind rolls changes during manufacturing. Pneumatic air shafts are available for secure roll retention and an optional hydraulic reel-loading system assists with heavier rolls.
Drying System Designed Around the Process
Drying capacity directly influences print quality and manufacturing performance. The equipment can be provided with a hot-air drying system using gas, electric or diesel heating.
Each printing station can also be provided with individual electric heating. The choice of the final drying arrangement depends on the ink, substrate, printing width and the operating circumstances needed.
Built Around Your Production Requirement
Mohindra Mechanical Works does not confine customers to a specific drive or printing configuration. All machines are designed according to the desired substrate, web width, color stations, roll diameter and production procedure. “The engineering-led approach allows the customer to choose a machine which fits the current application but at the same time retains the necessary flexibility for future printing jobs.
Precision Registration Control
For multi colour printing, every colour must be positioned correctly in relation to the previous printing unit. Motorised registration controls are available for convenient print-position correction during machine operation. The available controls include:
Motorised up-and-down registration
Motorised left-and-right registration
Web video inspection system
ARC registration system
Electronic web guide
Hydraulic web guide
These systems help the operator monitor the printed web and make controlled adjustments according to the job requirement.
Process- Specific Attachments
The Multi Drive Rotogravure Printing Machine can be supplied with additional systems for specialized production requirements:
- Hydraulic reel-loading attachment
- Reverse-printing attachment
- Pneumatic doctor blade
- Pneumatic impression roller
- Lamination attachment
- Cylinder stand
- ARC registration system
- Web video inspection
Each attachment is selected for a defined production requirement. This prevents unnecessary equipment from being added to the machine and allows customers to invest in the controls required for their actual process.
These systems help the operator monitor the printed web and make controlled adjustments according to the job requirement.
