Fully Automatic Drum Type LD Film Slitting Machine
Automated Slitting for Flexible LD Film Rolls
The Fully Automatic Drum Type LD Film Slitting Machine is developed for splitting rolls of wide LD polyethylene films into smaller rolls without compromising on the control of film movement during the entire operation process. Due to the softness and flexibility of the LD film, as well as its sensitivity to any changes in tension, it requires proper handling during the slitting and rewinding processes. Through automation, the system ensures coordinated operation of the unwinding, guiding, tension control, slitting and rewinding operations. Drum winding facilitates uniform winding of the film roll as the diameter increases. It can be used for plain LD film, printed LD film, flexible packaging film, etc.

Controlled Handling of Soft and Stretchable LD Film
The LD film can also stretch, develop wrinkles, or even shift sideways if there is unequal tension during conversion. In this light, the LD film should move without undue pulling or any disturbances in its web while transferring from the parent roll to the cutting section.
The automatic tension and guidance system will help keep the movement of the LD film constant due to the gradual reduction of the diameter of the parent roll. The proper positioning of the web ensures that the knives maintain their cutting path.
Such a method is essential in minimizing the development of wrinkles, edge wandering, stretching of the LD film, and varying slit widths.
Drum-Supported Winding for Better Roll Formation
Applying winding pressure on the flexible LD film needs to be balanced because over application of winding pressure will squeeze or deform the roll, and inadequate control will cause loose winding layers. Drum winding system ensures continuous support for the growing rolls.
Every time a layer is wound, controlled roll contact ensures even distribution of the film on the roll, making sure that no common winding issues such as telescoping, loose edge, uneven building of the roll, and improper roll profile arise. Well-rolled LD films are easy to store and process.
Automatic Operation for Continuous LD Film Conversion
For longer production runs, repeated manual correction can affect productivity and roll consistency. The fully automatic configuration coordinates the major web-handling functions so the operator can concentrate on monitoring production and finished reel quality.
Operating conditions can be selected according to the film thickness, parent roll size, required slit width, and finished reel requirement. Automatic control helps compensate for changing roll diameters during unwinding and rewinding.
This makes the machine suitable for converters processing LD film regularly and requiring consistent narrow-width reels for further converting, packaging, bag-making, or other compatible applications.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. It helps maintain the correct web position and reduces sideways film movement during continuous production.
Yes. The slitting arrangement can be configured according to the required finished widths and parent roll dimensions.
The drum provides support to the growing reels, helping the flexible film wind with a more consistent roll profile.
Yes. Compatible printed LD film can be converted into narrower reels while maintaining controlled web movement.
Because LD film is flexible and stretchable, excessive or inconsistent tension can cause wrinkles, stretching, and uneven winding.
The machine can be configured for compatible plain, printed, packaging-grade, and other suitable LD polyethylene films.
