Manual Drum Type Film Slitting Machine
Flexible Film Slitting with Simple Manual Operation
This type of film slitting machine is designed for the conversion of wide flexible film rolls into narrow rolls that are needed for various converting and packaging processes. The manual control mechanism helps the operators to have good control over the slitting width, knife placement, web motion, and creation of the final reels. In this process, the web passes through the controlled web path and then goes to the slitting station where it gets cut based on the size of the required reels. The use of drum-winding makes it easier for the reels to get formed by maintaining contact between them.

Accurate Width Setting for Different Film Jobs
There are instances whereby film converters are forced to generate multiple finished reel sizes out of a single parent roll. The use of manual slitting system enables the operator to align the knives based on the production process and not rely on pre-fixed width systems.
Proper alignment of knives enables maintenance of slit dimensions while control of the film movement enables minimal sideways movement. This becomes very helpful especially when there are differences in the film thickness, parent roll width and finished reel size requirements.
Proper machine alignment will enable clean separation of the film in preparation for further converting.
Drum-Assisted Winding for Better Roll Build-Up
The flexible films may stretch, wrinkle, or move about if the winding is done under unfavorable conditions. With the drum system, the slit reels are constantly supported as the reels become larger, thus facilitating organization of the layers.
Winding under favorable conditions ensures that there is a balance of the reel shape and avoids issues like loose winding, crooked edges, telescoping, or improper formation of the rolls. It is possible for the operator to observe the reel during manufacturing and adjust based on the behavior of the film.
The rolls produced will be easy to handle and ready for printing, lamination, pouching, coating, and other processes.
Practical Control for Frequently Changing Production
Manual adjustment is an appropriate method in cases where the production needs change frequently and the operator requires simple control of the machine settings. The knife location and other operating parameters may be modified in accordance with the type of material being converted and the desired size of the output rolls.
It ensures that the machine is capable of handling diverse types of flexible films in businesses without the need for uniform reels in each production process. Correct adjustments will also ensure that the operator is able to manage changes in gauge, texture, width, and winding behavior of the films.
The manual setting together with the drum-based rewinding is thus a sensible method.
